is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in
accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with
additional information included in this notice. This announcement
constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a
written solicitation will not be issued. This procurement is being
conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). GAS,
CARBON TETRAFLUOROMETHANE (CF4) 8000 LB. Specifications: 1) Gas, Carbon
tetraflouride (CF4) shall be in accordance with the following: a) Total
quantity of CF4 Gas shall be 8000 lbs. b) Shall be at least 99.997
percent pure. c) Shall have a dew point of -112 degrees Fahrenheit or
less. d) Shall be furnished in a Government owned tube trailer with
license number NA1562. e) Shall be furnished at pressure of 1500 psig
plus of minus 100 psig. f) Contractor shall furnish tractor and driver
for transporting trailer to and from NASA Langley Research Center. g)
Contractor shall evacuate and fill tubesof the trailer which contain
dry N2 gas of 99.99 percent purity at a pressure of approximately 200
psig. These tubes shall be marked with tags. h) The tube trailer shall
be ready for pick up approximately on 5-31-00. The contractor shall
notify the end user within 48 hours of pick up of the tube trailer from
LaRC Building 1275 for scheduling coordination. 2) Contractor shall
furnish a certificate of purity from an independent testing laboratory
or gas manufacturer upon delivery. The provisions and clauses in the
RFQ are those in effect through FAC 97-17. This procurement is a total
small business set-aside. See Note 1. The SIC code and the small
business size standard for this procurement are 2813 and 1,000
employees, respectively. The quoter shall state in their quotation
their size status for this procurement. All qualified responsible
business sources may submit a quotation which shall be considered by
the agency. Delivery to NASA/LaRC is required within 5 days ARO.
Delivery shall be FOB Destination. The DPAS rating for this procurement
is DO-C9. Quotations for the items(s) described above are due by May
08, 2000 COB and may be mailed or faxed to Ms. Terry Cobb, NASA/LaRC,
M/S 126, 9 Langley Blvd., Bldg. 1195A, Rm. 214, Hampton, VA 23681; fax
number 757-864-9775, and include, solicitation number, FOB destination
to this Center, proposed delivery schedule, discount/payment terms,
warranty duration (if applicable), Cage Code, taxpayer identification
number (TIN), identification of any special commercial terms, and be
signed by an authorized company representative. Quoters are encouraged

(on an aggregate basis) to the lowest priced, technically acceptable

show that the product quoted meets the Government's requirement.
