Y -- NATO: UPGRADE WATER DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM, AVIANO AIR BASE, ITALY SOL N33191-98-B-1339 DUE 051700 POC Alexis Kemper (202-482-1512) The United States Navy, Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Engineering Field Activity Mediterranean invites bids for the construction of the following project: Upgrade Water Distribution System at Aviano Air Base, Italy. The work includes the installation of a new underground water distribution piping and related construction. The installation of the water lines will be in a built up area. The work will require cutting of existing pavement, backfilling, re-compaction and repaving the areas for both pedestrian and vehicular traffic. Some demolition work will be required. The built up areas have other existing underground and above ground utilities and other obstruction that will require careful excavation and scheduling of the work to avoid disruption to the existing utilities servomg existing facilities, and the traffic in the areas. Other requirements, include the requirements for testing and sterilizing the water distribution system for potable water. The work will be scheduled with different start and completion dates for the construction of different segments of the water distribution system to maintain service to the existing facilities and to allow safe and orderly traffic. All applicants must be certified by the U.S. Department of Commerce, Office of Telecommunications as a qualified bidder in order to receive bid documents.
