This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). 1. Dual Jacket Single Metallic Armor Direct Buried Fiber Optical Cable. The cables shall comply with KSC Specification 79K28215 Revision K, and attachment for specifiction change. Cable Length: 3 miles (4828 meters) per reel. Total 6 reels. The cable shall contain 36 SM fiber with cable core configuration comprised of 4 loose buffer tubes each containing a 9 fiber bundle, color coded from Blue to Yellow for fiber and Pink, Aqua, Blue and Orange for loose tubes. (Reference paragraph 4.2.7.4 of 79K28125 for color code order.) The cable OD shall be equal or less than 3/4 inch. 2. Test Cable (same as Cable 1) 500 meters. Item 2 test cable is for the manufacturer to perform the Temperature Environment and Testing (7 to 7.3) as required for Temperature Testing Data (8.2.1.1) and for the Mechanical Performance Data (8.2.2). The provisions and clauses in the RFQ are those in effect through FAC 97-15. The SIC code and the small business size standard for this procurement are 6015 and $7M, respectively. The quoter shall state in their quotation their size status for this procurement. All qualified responsible business sources may submit a quotation which shall be considered by the agency. Delivery shall be FOB Destination. The DPAS rating for this procurement is DO-C9.
