(760) 939-8182 The Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division, China
Lake, CA, plans to procure on a full and open competitive basis one (1)
geothermal temperature gradient test hole to be located at the Naval
Air Weapons Station (NAWS), China Lake, CA. The test hole will be
drilled to an estimated depth of 10,000 feet and will be used by the
Navy's Geothermal Program Office in its resource potential
investigations of the NAWS. The requirement consists of mobilization;
site preparation; drilling, casing, cementing, and options for
completing the hole in one of four different methods; demobilization;
site restoration; providing test hole samples, reports, and geophysical
logs; and a provision to cover conditions such as lost circulation,
angle deviation, standby time, acts of God, test hole stimulation,
geophysical logging, coring, and casing perforation. Blow-out
prevention equipment will be required. Subcontractors used for logging
will be required to submit copies of their Federal and State licenses.
This project isestimated to take 160 days to complete, and the
estimated starting date is September 2000. Proposals are being
requested on a fixed price basis to include all mobilization,
equipment, supplies and material, and labor and supervision. The due
date for proposals will be stated in the solicitation when issued.
Specifications will be provided in the solicitation. A site visit for
prospective offerors is planned, with particulars to be provided in the
solicitation. The solicitation will be released on or about 14 June
2000 and will be available through the 2.0 Contracts Competency home
page at: http://www.nawcwpns.navy.mil/~contract/homepubl.htm . Some
portions of the solicitation may not be available electronically. It is
the offeror's responsibility to contact the Government Representative
