This is a modification of the previously issued synopsis dated 25 APR 00 for contractor support for various branches of its Chemistry Division. The purpose of this modification is to indicate that an additional task will be added to the solicitation. This additional task is for Research and Development of Analytical Techniques used in the Combustion of Fuels, Propellants, Pyrophorics, and Explosives. This task will include analysis and control of airborne chemicals, chemical analysis and chemical sensor development, and site characterization and remediation of contaminated soils, groundwater, and river sediments. This task will be performed on site at the Naval Research Laboratory, Washington, D.C. The incumbent contractor for this task is Geo-Centers, Inc., Newton Centre, MA. As previously indicated, multiple awards may be made against this solicitation. The solicitation will close 30 days after the issuance date.
