The Federal Bureau of Prisons intends to award (4)non-personal service contracts for Licensed Practical Nurses. All duties will be performed at the Federal Correctional Institution/Federal Prison Camp, located in Elkton, Ohio. The services will be provided to the inmate population. The contractors will be responsible for providing the following services: administering medications and treatments prescribed by a licensed physician, completing medical inventories for medications and supplies, interacting with inmates regarding medical issues, reading medical orders, assisting with the gathering of information for IOP/QA, issuing vaccinations, tetanus shots and PPDs, filing/copying medical records, providing patient education, interpreting physician orders by means of traditional methods, inclusive of physical prescriptions or entries in patient medical records. The terms of the contract will be in effect from the date of award through a 12 month period. The estimated number of sessions that each contractor will perform will be one 6-hour session per day-five days per week. The estimated number of sessions required for each contractor during the contract period will be 250 sessions (5 sessions x 50 weeks = 250). The sessions will be performed during the hours of 6:00AM -- 4:30PM and will be mutually agreed upon between the contractor and the contract monitor.
