E-MAIL: Artistine R. Lethcoe-Reid, A.LETHCOE-REID@larc.nasa.gov. THIS NOTICE CONSTITUTES AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO THE COMBINED SYNOPSIS/RFQ FOR Traveling Wave Tube Microwave Power Amplifier. Companies shall acknowledge all amendment(s) in their quote. This notice serves as the official amendment to subject synopsis/RFQ and a written amendment will not be issued. The purpose of this amendment is to provide answers to questions related to the above solicitation. Question #1 -- Input Connector: In line 13, the solicitation suggests that connector is type BNC, but line 20 indicates type N. Answer -- RF Connections: Input, type N Female (rear mount), Output, type N female (rear mount), Output sample port, type N Female (front panel mount). Question #2 -- Output Sample Connector: Line 21 seems to specify both type N and type BNC for this connector. Answer -- Pulse -- Input Pulse: Standard TTL level, 50 Ohm termination (BNC type connector (rear mount)); GPIB -- IEEE 488 interface connector (rear mount). Question #3 -- What are the minimum and maximum pulse widths? Answer -- The minimum and maximum pulse widths are specified in terms of the PRF and the duty cycle. /a 1kHz PRF gives a pulse time calculation of [(1/PRF)*duty cycle] = 1mS*.06 =60uS A 250 kHz PRF gives a pulse time calculation of 4uS*.06 = 0.24uS. Question #4 -- Most of the locations are specified except for the pulse input (BNC) and the IEEE 488 interface connectors. Is there a preferred location for these? Answer -- IEEE Interface Connector (rear Mount); Pulse input BNC connector (rear mount). Questions #5 -- Delivery of 30 days ARO seems to be unrealistic. The TWT lead time for this is 120 days ARO. This is not a stock item. Can the amplifier delivery be changed to 120 days ARO? Answer -- A delivery date of 120 days ARO is acceptable. The due date for receipt of offers is not extended. Companies shall provide the information stated in the synopsis/RFQ posted on the NASA Acquisition Internet Service (NAIS) on 05/10/00. Documents related to this procurement are available over the Internet and are in Microsoft Office Suite (Word 6.0, Excel 5.0, or PowerPoint 4.0) format and reside on the World Wide Web (WWW) server which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.
