Woolfolk, Contracting Officer, (202) 707-0443 This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and RFQ00C-19 is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 90-32. The Library of Congress has a requirement to purchase a Commercially Available Thermal Analysis System consisting of (1) a thermogravimetric analysis (TGA) module and (2) a differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) module which will be used mainly for the characterization and analysis of a variety of polymetric materials by studying the physical and chemical changes produced on heating these materials at controlled rates. The identification of evolved gases may also be undertaken in the future by coupling this equipment with existing Fourier TransformInfra Red (FTIR) analysis equipment.
