(AKA: Lomah like/Close Contact Hit Sensor). Training aid device is to
be hard wired or radio or pop-up target mechanisms (E-type
silhouettes) at ranges of 75, 175 and 300 meters. The system will
detect, locate, and count all supersonic (5.56 M16 series rifles)
projectiles passing through the target or an area with a radius of
three feet (regardless of hit or miss) on the target. All data will be
instantly displayed to the shooter via a visual display device. A
central or Individual Lane Range Computer station will provide
automatic and manual control of target mechnaisms, detect and
accumulate target hit data, and print a permanent record for evaluation
of the shooter's performance. All computer hardware will be
preprogrammed with the applicable IET BRM (Basic Rifle Marksmanship)
Periods of Instruction IAW applicable Training Support Packages.
Standard Range layout consists of 32 lanes with 3 targets per lane.
