The General Services Administration, Region 8, Federal Technology Service intends to negotiate on a sole source basis for the following Anxiter Inc. products: 332-each, Item #25PA/T-H-C5-006, RJ21 TELCO to RJ45 Modular Plug Octopus Cable Assembly, 6-feet long/120 degree; and 332-each, Item #25PA/T-H-C5-008, RJ21 TELCO to RJ45 Modular Plug Octopus Cable Assembly, 8-feet/120 degree. Unless other sources are found a sole source order will be place with Anxiter Inc., Federal Sales, 5055 E. Landon Dr., Anaheim, CA 92807, Tele: 714/779-0500. Under the authority of FAR 6.302-1 and 10 USC 2304(1) based on only one known source for this product. Primary functional requirement: In order to maintain a Category 5 compliant system, a 10/100 Base-T hub with RJ21 TELCO connectors and the stand-alonge RJ45 100 Base-T hub/switches to a patch panel in the wring closet. This will provide seamless integration into the existing Category 5 compliant infrastructure. There is reasonable basis to conclude that these needs can only be satisfied by Anixter Inc. One reason is delivery schedule, Anixter will begin to ship partial shipment, 25 cables/day in a week to a week-and-a-half, which is better than the competition. Givern Anixter's past performance, they can meet the specific requirements held by the client, and will supply the clients' requested product. Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) is 3577 (1000 employees). This requirement will be purchased under FAR Part 12 -- Acquisition of Commercial Items. A commercial item is defined as any item, other than real property, that is of a type customarily used for non-governmental purposes and that has been sold, leased, or licensed to the general public.
