Under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, the National Park Service, (NPS), Columbia Cascades Support Office, intends to enter into a non-competitive contract for the installation of telephone line and service to the Sol Duc Entrance Station, located at Olympic National Park in Clallam County, State of Washington. CenturyTel of Washington, Inc. has jurisdiction over this area to provide telephone service for the Sol Duc Entrance Station at Olympic National Park. CenturyTel will place new buried facilities along Highway 101 MP216 to Sol Duc Hot Springs Entrance Station. They will also furnish, own, operate and maintain the facilities necessary to furnish telephone service where no phone currently exists. Therefore, in accordance with the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1)(2), as implemented by FAR 6.302-1, the Government intends to enter into negotiations on a non-competitive basis with CenturyTel of Washington, Inc. within 30 days after the publication of this notice. However, all information received by this agency shall be considered. A determination not to open the requirement to competition based on responses received to this notice is solely within the discretion of the agency.
