Grubbe, Contracting Officer (540) 983-1049 This notice provides additional information to the combined synopsis/solicitation posted April 18, 2000 for a firm to provide Professional Recruiting Services for the VAMC, Salem, Virginia. The authority for soliciting quotes in the synopsis was erroneously listed as Title 38 USC Section 8153 and should be disregarded. The VA Medical Center, Salem, VA intends to solicit quotes and award a firm-fixed price contract on a competitive basis to the offeror(s) whose quotation meets the requirements of this solicitation. This is to clarify to all potential offerors the documentation on proposed candidates originally requested to be submitted with their quotation is not required at this time. This documentation shall be required after award, and shall be required when presenting prospective employees to the VAMC, Salem, Virginia. The contract performance period is changed from a six (6) month period to a twelve (12) month period. The physician requirements listed in the original synopsis/solicitation representthe current medical staffing needs at the VAMC Salem, and it is anticipated that additional medical staffing needs may occur during the contract performance period. Offerors are notified that in accordance with 5 CFR 300.404 commercial agencies may not charge the applicants a fee in order to be considered for federal employment. Offerors are advised that their quotations or price schedules may be proposed either in a flat rate structure as indicated in the original synopsis or proposed as customary to the recruiting industry standards.
