The Social Security Administration (SSA) intends to issue a sole source purchase order under Simplified Acquisition procedures to Words at Work International, 1787 Columbia Road, Third Floor, Washington DC 20009, to provide televised training (4-6 broadcasts), textbooks, and training videotapes concerning the use of Plain Language. SSA believes that Words at Work is the only vendor able to provide these services and products as they must be based on training on the same subject provided by Words at Work to SSA in November and December 1999. Words at Work developed the Plain Language training under a pilot; SSA wants the same training materials and training methods employed for this new effort. The training materials are proprietary to Words at Work. This is an announcement of SSA_s intent to issue an order to Words at Work for training, textbooks, associated travel, and videotapes of the training sessions; SSA will not issue a solicitation. SSA will not respond to requests for solicitation copies and will not pay for information received in response to this announcement. Responses must provide sufficient information for SSA to determine that a firm other than Words at Work can provide the training and training materials as described above. If SSA does not receive an acceptable response to this announcement within 5 days of its publication, it will issue a purchase order to Words at Work for the training and training materials.
