The work involves the construction of a 6,700 sf Carrier Annex Postal Building, parking lot and demolition of a two story restaurant and associated parking area and utilities, on South Broadway St. Work includes, but is not limited to demolition of a two story restaturant, foundations, drive area, parking lot, walk area, and utilities as noted on the drawings. The building being demolished contains a small amount of asbestos containing material which include asbestos floor tile and ductwork connectors on the second floor. New construction includes, but is not limited to earthwork, site utilities, site improvements, paving, landscaping, fencing, flagpole, and new building construction. The new building construction includes, but is not limited to, concrete footers, block and brick walls, steel joists and beam support steel, built up roofing, acoustical tile ceilings, drywall partitions, doors, windows, tile and carpet, painting, linear ceiling, standing seam metal canopy, dock enclosure, scissor lift, etc. All work is to be done in accordance with the 1999 Small Building desing standards of the United States Postal Service. The estimated price range is between $600,000 and $800,000 with completion within 150 calendar days after the receipt of the Notice to Proceed. The sub-contracting minority dollar goals for this entire project is 13% of total project costs. Due diligence must be exercised in order to meet this goal. Failure of the contractor to comply in good faith with these requirements is a material breach of contract.
