Jr., 304/285-5883 The National Institute for Occupational Safety and
Health (NIOSH), Morgantown, WV, requires a contractor to clean interior
and exterior surfaces of all windows, glass doors, and skylights in
buildings and parking structures at our facility at 1095 Willowdale
Road, Morgantown, WV. Cleaning includes window sashes (frames), window
sills, and window/skylight surfaces. All run-off shall be removed, as
to prevent staining of lower windows and/or wall surfaces. Care shall
be exercised to avoid damaging any existing woodwork, furnishings,
Government property, etc. Cleaning means removal of all dust, dirt, and
staining. In addition to these services, incidental cleaning functions
not specifically listed, but normally included as general practice
within the glazing maintenance industry will be provided. These shall
include, but are not limited to, cleaning of insect and energy
conservation screens, replacement of component elements of window units
damaged during accomplishment of contractual services, cleaning of all
ledges and concrete beams which run above the Atrium and monumental
stair case, including glass air deflectors. Contractor will be
responsible for dusting all steel structural beams, which are covered
by intumescent fireproofing. No liquid cleaners or water is to be used
on any beams covered in intumescent fireproofing. In addition,
Contractor will be responsible for cleaning the monumental wood wall
located in the main lobby of the L Building. The contractor shall
conform to all regulations, Federal, State, and local governing
examining and licensing of glazing maintenance operators, performance
of glazing maintenance, and use of chemicals and equipment which may be
in effect in the area in which the work under the contract will be
performed. (NOTE: All windows and skylights are fixed. Scaffolding
and/or other rigging methods shall be in accordance with applicable
OSHA standards and must be approved before proceeding.) A PRE-AWARD
SITE VISIT WILL BE CONDUCTED ON TUESDAY, JUNE 6TH 2000 BEGINNING AT
9:30 A.M. AT THE NIOSH FACILITY, 1095 WILLOWDALE ROAD, MORGANTOWN, WV.
Offerors or quoters are urged and expected to inspect the site where
the work will be performed. For security reasons, this organized visit
will be the only opportunity for offerors to view the site. If you
plan to attend please notify Brenda Goodwin in advance via facsimile at
304/285-6083. Participants must check-in at the Security Desk in the
lobby of the L-Building prior to the meeting. The entire scope of work
and evaluation considerations for this project are addressed in the
solicitation. Request for Quotation RQ2000-021 will be issued as a 100%
set aside for small business concerns only on or about May 22, 2000,
and proposals will be due o/a June 23, 2000. The standard industrial
classification code (SIC) is 7349 with a size standard of $12 million.
