19 -- ALUMINUM BOAT SOL RP1580000207 DUE 060200 POC John Hall (307)344-2075 This is a commercial item purchase. Yellowstone National Park requires a 32 foot welded aluminum boat. The boat will be constructed of welded aluminum, double hull or similar desigh ("catamaran style") will be of a planing type and is needed for extra stability during netting operations in adverse weather conditions. The boat will be of an open deck design and be approximately 32 feet in length and 12 feet wide. At the front of the boat, there will be a flush-mounted moveable ramp used for loading and offloading of large quantities of netting equipment and occasional beaching. Bow door must be flush with top of deck to minimized the contact with gill nets. Detachable free wheeling roller will be attached to top of bow door. This custom boat will be used to assist in a long-term commercial-scale netting operation in Yellowstone Lake. Design must ensure that the boat has shallow draft, but be particularly stable because 1/2 mile long gillnets will be retrieved from the forward starboard portion of the boat. Design drawings and any modifications will be provided to and approved by the National Park Service prior to initiation of any actual construction. Offers will be evaluated on 1) Overal boat design, engineering talent, ease of overall equipment operation, ease of maintenance, and equipment performance 2) Past experience, contractor experience, qualifications, and previous boat experience and 3) Product reliability, contractor approach and past performance, quality assurance, warranty offered and ability to meet or exceed the delivery schedule.
