NASA/GRC is hereby soliciting information for potential sources for the purchase of small balls to be used in a reseach experiment using photography to record the motion of the balls while they are shook in a special chamber. Suitable balls should have the following characteristics: diameter of at least 1 millimeter and no greater than 2 millimeters, they should be spherical within 1% of the stated diameter, the diameter of each ball in a lot should be within 1% of the stated diameter, they should be either hollow metal or metal-coated acrylic, nonmagnetic, and having an electrically conductive surface. A sample of at least 50 balls (not to be returned), is desired for the test evaluation, and a pricing estimate for 10,000 and 100,000 balls is also requested. No solicitation exists; therefore, do not request a copy of the solicitation. If a solicitation is released it will be synopsized in the CBD and on the NASA Acquisition Internet Service. It is the potential offerors responsibility to monitor thesecites for the release of any solicitation or synopsis. Interested offerors/vendors having the required specialized capabilities to meet the above requirement should submit a capability statement indicating the ability to perform all aspects of the effort described herein. Responses should include the following: name and address of firm, whether they are large, small, small disadvantaged, 8(a), HUBZone, and/or woman-owned; number of years in business; and point of contact -- address and phone number).
