D -- D-BRIDGE CONTRACT FOR CONTINUED OPERATION, MAINTENANCE AND ADMINISTRATION (OM&A) OF THE BASE TELEPHONE SYSTEM LOCATED AT THE NAVAL AIR WARFARE CENTER WEAPONS DIVISION (NAWCWD), CHINA LAKE, CA SOL N68936-00-R-0102 DUE 062100 POC Barbara J Hall, Contract Specialist, (760) 939-1064, Ted Fiske, Contracting Officer, (760) 939-8182 The Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division (NAWCWD), China Lake, CA, intends to award a Fixed Price Indefinite-Delivery, Indefinite-Quantity (IDIQ) type contract for continued operation, maintenance and administration (OM&A) of the base telephone system. The requirement is to provide operation, maintenance (including reconfigurations such as redistribution of traffic and line cards), and administration of the Center Telecommunications System (CTS) telephone system located at NAWCWD. The contractor will also provide engineering, furnishing, and installing of additional CTS telephone switching equipment, transmission equipment, station wiring and equipment, outside plant cabling and equipment, and other supporting equipment to meet service requirements of CTS subscribers. The period of performance for the bridge contract shall have a base period beginning on 24 September 2000 through 23 September 2001 with an option for 6 months. The procurement will be awarded to Contel Advanced Systems, Inc. (CASI) the contractor who installed and is operating and maintaining the base telephone system. Future operation of the telephone system will be included as part of the Navy-wide Navy/Marine Corps Intranet (N/MCI). The N/MCI contract will be mandatory for all Navy and Marine Corps activities and is scheduled to be awarded in June 2000. Due to the short period between the completion of the existing contract and implementation of operation and maintenance under N/MCI, it was determined to be not economically feasible to transition the operation and maintenance pending award of N/MCI. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which will be considered by the agency. For information regarding this synopsis, contact Barbara J. Hall (by FAX: 760-939-8186 or e-mail at: hallbj@navair.navy.mil). All requests must reference the RFP No. N68936-00-R-0102. Notes 22/26 Apply. Posted 05/05/00 (W-SN452234). (0126)
