Contractor shall furnish and be solely responsible for all labor, equipment, materials, and transportation necessary for proper and safe removal, handling, and disposal of asbestos containing materials in accordance with Federal, state and local requirements. The contractor shall be appropriately licensed and certified to remove or repair damaged friable asbestos containing material in the state where the work is to be performed. Only contractors who provide a copy of license to perform abatement in Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut will be considered. All asbestos removal and repair work shall be conducted by accredited personnel meeting the contractor supervisor and Worker Training requirements of the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act (AHERA) guidelines and other applicable Federal and state laws, and all Federal, state and local by-laws, ordinances and regulations, which in any manner affect the conduct of the work. The three (3) sites are NOAA, National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), Milford Laboratory, 212 Rogers Avenue, Milford, Ct, NMFS Narragansett Laboratory, 28 Tarzwell Drive, Narragansett, RI and NOAA, NMFS Woods Hole, MA Laboratory, 166 Water Street, Woods Hole, MA. A site visit is required at each location and date/time will be specified in RFQ package. There will be multiple awards. This is a simplified acquisition. The period of performance shall be 120 days after award of purchase order. All responsible sources may submit a quote that will be considered by the agency. Requests for the RFQ shall be in writing.
