(NAVAIR) Patuxent River, MD intends to issue a requirement for the
conversion of three Allison T63-A-720 turbo shaft engines/modules for
commercial applications (TH6B Aircraft). The conversions will allow
these engines to be installed and maintained in commercially configured
aircraft. These engines, or modules, will retain military model
designation. The Allison T63-A-720 is the military designation of the
A250-series II (C20 series) turbo shaft engine. During the conversion
of this military engine for commercial use, it is necessary to remove
any parts or components that are designated for military use only, and
substitute parts or components that are certified in accordance with
commercial specifications. A full overhaul inspection shall be required
in order to ensure that all components used fall within the commercial
overhaul manual specifications. SOLICITATION N00019-00-R-0337 AND ALL
AMENDMENTS WILL NOT BE MAILED TO CONTRACTORS. The solicitation will
appear on the NAVAIR Homepage located at http://www.navair.navy.mil.
