The caretakers shall provide routine animal care to include housing, feeding, hygiene, and record keeping. Caretakers shall be required to operate and maintain housing racks, rack and tunnel washers, autoclaves, and water bottle fillers. Caretakers will be required to provide care to various animals. Caretakers may be required to wear personal protective clothing, and may be required to lift supplies/equipment of not more than 50 lbs. Caretakers must be certified at the Assistant Laboratory Animal Technician level or higher. All caretakers must provide a statement of health prior entering the facility.
