V -- TRAVEL AGENCY SERVICES SOL 243-00-R-2008 DUE 051700 POC Kathy Russell (907) 729-2967 or Burt Humphrey (907) 729-2965 The Indian Health Service(IHS), Alaska Area, has a requiremnt for Travel Agency Services and is seeking qualified Alaska Native/American Indian owned firms which have the capability to provide this service. The travel agency would include the full range of travel services including air travel, marine travel, hotel reservations and car rental. The Contractor will be responsible for making all travel arrangements for the Indian Health Service employees in Alaska as well as authorized tribal representative and consultants traveling at the request of the agency. Any solicitation and resulting contract will provide for adding P.L. 93-638 contractors, if the service would be requested by the tribal entity. In order to be eligible for contract award, the Contractor must have an office in the Anchorage, Alaska area, and have the ability to provide service on a 24 hr/7 day basis. Knowledge of GSA contract fares and experience with making travel arrangements in rural Alaska is mandatory. The intent of the IHS isto issue a solicitation as a set-aside for American Indian/Alaska Native owned firms under the authority of the Buy Indian Act (P.L. 61-316). American Indian/Alaska Native owned firms with an interest in submitting an offer for this service should provide information concerning their business to the Contracting Officer, not later than May 17, 2000. Information should include the name of the firm, services provided by the business, business address and phone number/point of contact, information regarding the history and experience of the business and documentation to support Indian ownership.
