A -- EXPERIMENTAL DESIGN/EVALUATION OF GROUND/AIRBORNE MATERIALS/SENSOR SYSTEMS SOL N00421-00-R-0246 DUE 061000 POC Mark R. The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) has a requirement for advisory and assistance service -- classified subdivision engineering and technical services required to support Code 4.5.5, Mission and Sensor Systems and Code 4.5.5.6, Electro Optics (EO) Sensors. The NAWCAD is acquiring services for the processing, analysis, testing and evaluation of both ground based and airborne materials and sensor systems. The tasks may include services for engineering design, hardware and software development, data processing, data analysis and development of mathematical models and algorithms on the Distributed Aperture Infrared System (DAIRS), Multifunction Distributed Aperture Systems (MIDAS), the Advance Tactical Forward Looking Infrared (ATFLIR) system and the Advanced Imaging Multi-Spectral Sensor (AIMS). The anticipated contract type is a cost plus fixed fee. The level of effort is estimated at 20,928 man hours per year for a total level of effort of 104,640. The period of performance is estimated at 12 months plus four one-year options to be assessed and awarded on an annual basis. The Standard Industry Code is 8711. All interested firms must have or be able to obtain a SECRET facility clearance. This requirement is a follow-on effort to N62269-94-C-0500 in which Rome Research Corporation is the incumbent. The Navy intends to release the solicitation, including any subsequent amendments, via the Internet. The solicitation will be available on the NAVAIR Home Page located on the World Wide Web (WWW).
