Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) has a requirement for
advisory and assistance service -- classified subdivision engineering
and technical services required to support Code 4.5.5, Mission and
Sensor Systems and Code 4.5.5.6, Electro Optics (EO) Sensors. The
NAWCAD is acquiring services for the processing, analysis, testing and
evaluation of both ground based and airborne materials and sensor
systems. The tasks may include services for engineering design,
hardware and software development, data processing, data analysis and
development of mathematical models and algorithms on the Distributed
Aperture Infrared System (DAIRS), Multifunction Distributed Aperture
Systems (MIDAS), the Advance Tactical Forward Looking Infrared (ATFLIR)
system and the Advanced Imaging Multi-Spectral Sensor (AIMS). The
anticipated contract type is a cost plus fixed fee. The level of effort
is estimated at 20,928 man hours per year for a total level of effort
of 104,640. The period of performance is estimated at 12 months plus
four one-year options to be assessed and awarded on an annual basis.
The Standard Industry Code is 8711. All interested firms must have or
be able to obtain a SECRET facility clearance. This requirement is a
follow-on effort to N62269-94-C-0500 in which Rome Research Corporation
is the incumbent. The Navy intends to release the solicitation,
including any subsequent amendments, via the Internet. The solicitation
will be available on the NAVAIR Home Page located on the World Wide Web
(WWW). The WWW server may be accessed using client browsers such as
NETSCAPE and INTERNET EXPLORER. The WWW address, or URL, for the NAVAIR
Home page is: http://www.navair.navy.mil. To access the solicitation,
select "Business" and then select "Doing Business With Us". Under
"Doing Business With Other NAVAIR TEAM Members", select "Naval Air
Warfare Center Aircraft Division -- Solicitations". Then select "On
Line Solicitations". In addition to the availability of the
solicitation for downloading at this internet site, the Navy will also
e-mail a notification of release of the solicitation and any
subsequent amendments to all prospective offerors who submit a request.
