COMMERCE BUSINESS DAILY ISSUE OF MAY 11,2000 PSA#2598SPACE SHUTTLE ORBITER COCKPIT AVIONICS UPGRADES PROJECT -- PHASE 1
ACTIVITY, RFP USA-SSU-A01, AMENDMENT NO. 1 United Space Alliance (USA),
LLC, prime contractor to NASA for Space Shuttle operations, through its
offices located in Houston, Texas, has issued Amendment No. 1 dated May
8, 2000 to the Request for Proposal (RFP) USA-SSU-A01 dated April 21,
2000 for the acquisition of upgrades to the Space Shuttle Orbiter
Cockpit Avionics Upgrades Project -- Phase 1 activity. This acquisition
is in support of USA's prime contract NAS9-20000 -- Space Flight
Operations Contract (SFOC) with the NASA Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center
(JSC) located in Houston, Texas. Specifically, this Amendment No. 1 to
the RFP contains vendor provided questions and USA responses to those
questions, revisions/clarifications of the RFP and page
inserts/replacements. This RFP is categorized as a full and open
competition and it is contemplated that USA will award multiple
subcontracts for the Phase 1 activity based on the best value criteria
established by USA in this RFP. A four (4) month period of performance
is anticipated commencing on or about June 7, 2000 for the Phase 1
activity. The Amendment No. 1 to the RFP is available electronically
either in PDF and Word 95 format. Offerors interested in this

Your offer must be received by 4:00 p.m., Houston time (Central
Standard Time (CST)) on May 15, 2000 at the following address: United

be hand delivered Monday through Friday, but only to the address stated
above at Door 10, from 7:30 a.m. -- 4:30 p.m. (CST). Offerors are
invited to call (281) 282-3163 in advance to arrange a day and time to
deliver their proposal. The offer submitted in response to this
solicitation shall include the solicitation number, offeror's name and
complete address, including street, city, county, state, and zip code.
In addition, a telephone number where the person responsible for the
offer can be contacted should be included. Offerors interested in
participating in this project are subject to all applicable federal,
state and local laws and regulations, including the requirements of the
U.S. Department of State International Traffic and Arms Regulation
(ITAR) and/or the U.S. Department of Commerce Export Administration
