The Tongass National Forest is soliciting competitive quotations for rental, on a fully operated basis, of a large backhoe excavator (minimum flywheel horsepower of 100, minimum 1 cubic yard bucket capacity, minimum reach 25 feet) for an estimated 850 hours and a dumptruck (minimum capacity 10 cubic yards, tandem drive, minimum brake horsepower of 185, year of manufacture 1980 or later) for an estimated 475 hours for miscellaneous road maintenance and minor construction work on Prince of Wales Island in Southeast Alaska. Due to the dual maintenance and construction nature of the work, delivery orders issued under this contract will be subject to either the Service Contract Act or the Davis-Bacon Act. The estimated price range for the contract is $25,000 -- $100,000. Contract time will be from the Notice of Award until November 15, 2000. Simplified acquisition procedures apply.
