firm-fixed price contract for all labor, equipment, materials,
incidentals and personnel required or necessary (except that specified
as Government furnished) to construct a new dining hall and medical
treatment facility and renovate the current dining hall and medical
treatment sections of Building 780 at Baer Field, Ft. Wayne
International Airport, Ft. Wayne, IN. This procurement will be
solicited on an unrestricted basis using SIC 1542, size standard
$17.0M. The project consists of new construction of approximately
22,000 SF and the renovation of approximately 13,500 SF of Building
780. The renovation of Building 780 includes the demolition of the
medical treatment portion. The facility may contain asbestos fiber pipe
insulation on heating pipes, which shall be removed by the contractor.
The magnitude of construction for this project is between $5 and $10
million. Performance period for this contract will be approximately 548
calendar days after issuance of Notice to Proceedfor the new
construction followed by approximately 365 calendar days for the
renovation of Building 780. The IFB, DAHA12-00-B-0002, will be issued
O/A 5 May 2000 with a bid opening date on 6 June 2000 at 1300 hours at
Stout Field. The dates as stated are finalized in the IFB. Any changes
to the bid opening date will be published in an amendment to the IFB.
The site visit is scheduled for 24 May 2000 at 1000 hours at Ft. Wayne
IAP, IN and is listed in the IFB. The plans and IFB may be viewed at
Construction Market Data, either at 5804 West 78th Street,
Indianapolis, IN or at 1415 Director's Row, Ft. Wayne, IN, and Dodge
Reports, either at 6666 East 75th Street, Indianapolis, IN or at 4705

The IFB will also be available at Charlier, Clark & Linard PC. Requests
for the IFB should be submitted before 25 May 2000; only written
requests will be accepted. Recipientsthat do not submit a bid should
notify the Contract Specialist if they wish to be considered for future
notices. All firms that request a solicitation shall identify the
status of their firm as a large business, small business, small
disadvantaged business, emerging small business, 8(a) business or
woman-owned business. A subcontracting plan will be required if the
successful bidder is a large business. Award can only be made to a
Contractor who is registered with the Central Contractor Registration
database as required by the DFARS. Contractor must be Electronic Funds
