The Fleet and Industrial Supply Center, Puget Sound, on behalf of the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, requests information in preparation for an upcoming Third Party Logistics contract solicitation. It is anticipated that we will have the need for third party support to manage Pre-Expended Bins (PEB). Sample items consist of nuts, bolts, pipe fittings, O'rings, acid brushes, electrical/electronic components, gloves, sheet metal supplies, general hardware, consumables (paper towels, coveralls) etc. Current line items carried is 5,920 with 60,926 total issues last year. Bin locations include, but not limited to the following buildings within PSNS: 431, 447, 857, homeported ships, and San Diego, Bldg 73. It is the Navy's primary objective in this effort to transfer inventory/bin management of pre-expended stock to a contractor. We welcome solutions that include payment by government purchase card, inventory and usage tracking and creation of trend patterns, tracing receipt information, and other industry bestpractices. We request that you provide information on suggested approaches to structuring a solicitation statement of work for such an effort.
