Background "Wright-Patterson Air Force Base will procure a Fixed Price contract for the base year (01 Oct 00 -- 30 Sep 01) to inspect and repair coal conveyor belts. Four (4) one-year option periods may be awarded. This requirement includes two inspections annually of each of the two coal conveyor belts associated with the base central heating plants. Repairs may be necessary following inspections or on an on-call basis. The contractor shall furnish all equipment, labor and materials to complete the work. The standard industrial classification code for this acquisition is 7699. The small business size standard is $5,000,000. An award will be made using a Lowest Price Technically Acceptable (LPTA) procedure described in FAR 15.101-2. The Request for Proposal and Performance Work Statement will be posted on the ASC PreAward Information Exchange System (PIXS) at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio (http://www.pixs.wpafb.af.mil), approximately 26 May 00.
