The Durham VAMC intend to negotiate on a sole source basis with Paul Tillery Commercial Rentals for the use of 2,757 net rentable square feet of space. This space is currently being used by the Department of Veterans Affairs as an out patient clinic. Considering the time lost in moving the Clinic, the moving expense the Government will incur, and the inconvenience it will cause the Veterans, is the the opinion of the Contracting Officer that to move the Vet Center would not be in the best interest of the Government or the Veterans. The procurement will be conducted under other than full and open competition under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1). If no affirmative written documentation is received within 10 calendar days of this synopsis, VA Durham will proceed with negotiations to issue a contract. This is not a request for a proposal.
