The work consists of furnishing all plant, labor, materials and equipment necessary to renovate Room 188 to serve as chemical storage room. The Contractor shall reroute existing electrical systems passing through the room so that they no longer enter that area. New electrical requirements for Room 188 shall be in accordance with NFPA 70 (1996 National Electrical Code) for a Class 1 Division 2 Hazardous Location. The Contractor shall remove existing exhaust fan and replace it with an explosion proof exhaust fan. The walls of Room 188 shall be modified to achieve a two-hour fire rating. The existing doors shall be removed. The Contractor shall add a new zone in the existing fire alarm control panel and install an explosion proof smoke detector in Room 188. The estimated value of the proposed work is between $100,000.00 and $250,000.00.
