DESC>The work to be performed under this solicitation is the installation of security improvements at the Lower Colorado Regional Office, which is located in Boulder City, Nevada, in Clark County, Nevada. Principal items of work include the following: A) Installing a total of five Government-furnished, 30-inch high, vertical lift bollards. One set of two bollards will be installed on Denver Street, and one set of three bollards will be installed on the North Access Road. Installation work consists of the following: (1) Sawcutting existing asphalt surfacing; (2) Excavation for reinforced concrete foundation for each bollard; (3) Excavation for remote pneumatic power unit (PPU) retaining wall foundation, reinforced concrete PPU slab and bases for Access Gates and Cardkey pedestals; (4) Constructing reinforced, masonry retaining wall with random rubble rock finish and reinforced concrete slab for PPU; (5) Installing Government-furnished remote PPU enclosure with controls and compressor; (6) Excavating, installing, and backfilling conduits for underground compressed air supply lines from each bollard to the PPU, underground electrical conduit for power and signal wiring from bollards to PPU, underground electrical conduit for power and signal wiring for Cardkey pedestals and Access Gates, and underground electrical conduit for power and signal wiring from the PPU to power panelboards in nearby Communications Center; (7) Providing and connecting power and signal wiring conductors; (8) Sawcutting existing asphalt for detection loop wiring; and (9) Final adjustment of the bollard system. B) Miscellaneous work including removing and disposing of existing concrete sidewalk, providing curb only or curb and gutter at various locations, constructing a 30-inch-high retaining wall along Park Street, Nevada Highway, and Denver Street with reinforced concrete light pole bases for street lights, constructing a five-foot-wide concrete sidewalk, relocating adjacent irrigation system piping and sprinkler heads to accommodate new retaining wall and sidewalk, providing fixed bollards at various locations, and replacing sod in construction areas. The estimated cost range of this project is $100,000 to $500,000. The performance time for completion of this project is 120 calendar days. The presolicitation notice (SF-1417) for this project is currently available. For this acquisition the standard industrial classification code is 1611 and the small business size standard is $17.0 million. We will issue a Request for Proposals in the form of a solicitation which will include a description of the work requirements, instructions to offerors, and required certifications. We estimate that we will issue the solicitation on June 15, 2000. Currently, we anticipate that the due date for offers will be July 18, 2000. No documents will be available until the solicitation is issued. There is a nonrefundable charge of $20 for each hard copy of the solicitation. For this amount, you will receive a complete solicitation with the specifications and drawings. The drawings will not be available online.
