14 -- 13-SLAM ER WARHEAD CASES SOL N68936-00-R-0104 DUE 072800 POC Joanne Shepter, Contract Specialist, (760) 939-7651, Dell Hledik, Contracting Officer, (760) 939-3772, fax (760) 939-7510 The Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division, China Lake intends to procure, on an other than open competition basis, up to 270 SLAM ER warhead cases from Defense Research, Inc.(DRI), Anniston, AL. The contract will extend for three years from date of award. Year One will have a base quantity of 25 cases with options for 5, 10 and 20 cases. Year Two will have option quantities of 5, 10, 20, 30 and 40 cases. Year Three will have options for 5, 10, 20, 30 and 40 warhead cases. DRI is the only qualified source for SLAM ER warhead cases. The contractor will build the cases to a Government drawing on a fixed price basis. Each warhead case will be fabricated from three forgings which are electron-beam welded together into an assembly. This assembly will be machined to drawing requirements. The finished warhead cases are approximately 41 inches long by 14 inches in diameter. The contract will contain an Economic Price Adjustment clause to lessen the risk for Titanium pricing. Award is anticipated in October of 2000 and delivery of year one cases is due in 2001. Year two cases will be due in 2002 and year three in 2003. All responsible sources may submit a bid, proposal or quotation, which shall be considered by the agency. See Numbered Notes 22 and 26.
