The purpose of this amendment is to clarify the specifications requirements for two conveyors and a sorting platform and extend the closing date of the solicitation. The requested material shall meet or exceed the following salient characteristics: A) Electrical Controls -- 1) Power source will be 460 VAC, 60 Hz, 3-phase, 2) Interlocking electrical controls mounted inside NEMA 12 enclosure, with lockable disconnect switches, 3) All necessary control logic, timers, magnetic starters, and/or AC variable speed drives, electronic soft-starters, push buttons, pilot lights, maintained and emergency stop buttons, 4) Emergency cable switches and start warning horns as required, meeting all safety standards for conveyors, 5) Complete documentation of the control system shall be provided, including schematic diagrams, conduit diagrams for installation, spare parts list, operations manuals, and sequence of operation. Documentation shall conform to ANSI/NFPS 79; B) Slider-bed Conveyor -- 1) Nominal dimensions: a) belt width 30", b) belt path style A, horizontal, c) Horizontal projection of 27'6" between centers of head and tail pulleys, 2) Belting: a) MOR P.I.W. 150 belting with 1/8" thick moderately oil-resistant top cover, 3) Pulleys: a) crown faced steel, 4) Return idlers: a) steel, 5) Shafting: a) cold finished steel, mounted in heavy duty pillow blocks, 6) Drive: a) minimum 1750 RPM electric motor, continuous duty, V-belt drive to gear reducer with totally enclosed guard, 7) Frame construction: a) side frames constructed form formed steel, b) spreader with structural angles, c) side skirts as required, d) take-up screws located at the tail end of conveyor, e) conveyor support legs fabricated from heavy shapes, f) slider-bed conveyor shall be painted green; C) Steel belt conveyor -- 1) Nominal dimensions: a) 6" pitch, b) belt width 48", b) belt path style D @ 40 degrees, horizontal-inclined, c) horizontal projection 28'6" between centers of head and tail sprockets, d) vertical projection 11'4" between centers of head and tail sprockets, e) lower horizontal 12'0" approximate effective loading area, f) upper horizontal 2'4", 2) Belting: a) 6" pitch hinged steel belt, 3) Drive: a) minimum 1750 RPM electric motor, continuous duty, V-belt drive to gear reducer with totally enclosed guard, 4) Frame: a) standard closed panel frame, b) side panels from formed #7 gauged steel with enclosed 3/8" thick track. All field connections shall be bolted, c) conveyor sides shall have two pairs of removable inspection panels, d) spreader bottom pan: 5" structural channels bolted to side panels on 60" centers, formed #11 gauge steel, on incline, e) side skirts 3/8" thick, 7" high on lower horizontal, and 7 gauge, 48" high on incline and upper horizontal. Side skirts project below wing to provide seal, 5) Support legs: a) fabricated from heavy shapes, b) belt adjustment screws located at the head end of the conveyor, 6) Conveyor shall be painted green; D) Sorting Platform -- 1) Sorting chutes: a) 4 ea. -- (2'6" X 3'6") dualoutfeed, 2 ea. -- (2'6" X 2'0") single outfeed, 2) Handrail 24" high, three rail, 2" round (removable), 3) 4" high steel toeplate, 4)Modular welded joist and beam construction, 5) Beams and floor plates per AISC codes, 6) Diamond plate floor plates (approximately 420 sq. feet), 7) all connections bolted except decking and handrail, 8) Stairs: a) 36" wide bolted bar grating treads(maximum 7" rise and 11" run equally spaced), 9) Elevation 7'6" T.O.S., 10) all equipment loading and 125 per sq. ft. live load.
