The U.S. Department of Energy's National Energy Technology Laboratory has a requirement for one Carbon Dioxide Laser, consisting of Laser Generator, 1300 watts output at 10.6 micrometer wavelengths, approximately 250 pounds weight, RF excited, RF power supply, 220 VAC 3 Phase or 49 VAC 3 phase power, not less than 16 ft power cable. This laser is to be integrated into a factory prototype laser glass cutting machine. It must include a standard warranty on parts and labor. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items or services prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposal/bids are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ S0000479), the provisions and clauses incorporated are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular #97-4. This solicitation is under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) and is a Small Business-Small Purchase Set-Aside. The Standard Industrial Classification Code is 3699.
