The Government intends to adopt programs for the grade groupings of 6-8 and 9-12. A maximum of two awards may be made. It anticipated Solicitation MDA414-00-R-0005 will be issued on 05/16/00 with a closing date of 06/16/00. This solicitation will be issued on an unrestricted basis. Publishers will be required to submit student textbooks or equivalents, teacher's editions of the student text, teacher's resource packages/materials, assessment materials, and technological and multi-media materials if considered integral to the core program. The publisher(s) will also be required to provide related professional development training and support services as specified in the solicitation. Publishers shall not submit any ESL instructional materials for review to schools, teachers, ESL coordinators or other employees of the Department of Defense Education Activity during the solicitation phase of this acquisition. The proposed contract will be a requirements type contract with a base period of eighteen months with five option years. All responsible sources may submit a proposal, which shall be considered by the agency. The solicitation will contain specific instructions for submission of review materials and price proposals.
