The principal features of the work include: Install Government furnished stoplogs in the stoplogs slots downstream of the 72" hollow jet valves; remove the two 72" hollow jet valves from the main outlet works at Navajo Dam and transport both valves to a repair facility (approximately 30 tons each); replace the weld clad on the cylinder of each valve and machine to specified dimensions; remove coatings and weld repair the corroded or eroded surface; recoat with three coat single-component, moisture-cure urethane system; reassemble and test valves with new gaskets; transport back to Dam; reassemble and install valves on the supports in the stilling basin.
