The U.S. Army Materiel Command, Acquisition Center, Natick Contracting
Division, has requirements for a combined buy for two companion items,
Cargo Sling, Aerial Delivery. NSN: 1670-01-027-2902, 10K, P/N
38850-00001-043, with a minimum of 1,000 each and a maximum 10,000 each
for the entire contract. NSN: 1670-01-027-2900, 25K, P/N
38850-00001-044, with a minimum quantity of 500 and a maximum quantity
of 5000 each for the entire contract. The minimum quantity for a
Delivery Order is 100 each; the maximum quantity is 1,000 each for both
NSNs. It is the Government intention to issue Delivery Order 0001 for
the First Article Inspection, quantity: 3. Upon approval of First
Article Testing, Delivery Order 0002 will be issued for NSN:
1670-01-027-2902, for a quantity of 1,000 with follow on Delivery
Orders to include both NSNs. The Government intends to defer ordering
NSN: 1670-01-027-2900 until later program years, and may order first
article testing of this NSN prior to placement of subsequent delivery
orders. The Government does guarantee that it will order at least the
minimum quantity of 500 during the life of the contract, subject to
first article approval. The Government anticipates that this
acquisition, will result in a five year Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite
Quantity (IDIQ) type contract. This acquisition will be solicited and
awarded on a firm-fixed-price basis, it is a 100% Small Business
set-aside. The Standard Industrial Code is 2298, and the size standard
is 500 employees. A best value source selection will be based on the
offeror's proposed price and past performance in that order of
importance. The past performance sheet must contain a point of contact
for each company or Government Agency, a current telephone, fax
number, amount of the contract or purchase order, and order/contract
number. Economic, ordering, quantity, discount pricing may be filled in
on the Request For Proposal (RFP), DAAD15-00-R-0023. General
Characteristics and Item Description are as follows: Nine components
make up a completed four leg sling assembly; one metal apex fitting
assembly, four nylon slings legs and four steel grab hook-chain
assemblies. The apex fitting assembly consists of a U-shaped clevis
with a removable pin. The nylon rope assemblies are of double-braided
construction coated with an abrasion resistant compound. At each end an
eye splice is fabricated and covered with a polyurethane-coated
thimble. The forged steel grab hook assemblies connect the nylon rope
legs to the chains, which are attached to the load pickup points.
Offerors shall also submit a one-page past performance sheet listing at
least three recent (past two years) references for the same or a
similar item. The Solicitation, and Technical Data Package will be
posted on the Acquisition Center's web site, located at
http://www3.natick.army.mil, business opportunities, on going
