The Government requires 10 each IFR (formerly Marconi) Model 2023B Signal Generator, NSN: 6625-00-032-7229. The IFR 2023B Signal Generator is required to maintain the upper air automatic radiotheodolite (ART) equipment. The Government believes that IFR is the only known manufacturer who can offer the National Weather Service a signal generator that is consistent with the signal generator currently in use at the National Weather Service Training Center (NWSTC) to train maintenance personnel. The IFR 2023B signal generator is currently used by field technicians to align the upper air ground system and is used as a standard at the National Reconditioning Center (NRC) for calibrating upper air equipment. The items are being purchased in support of the U.S. Department of Commerce/NOAA, National Weather Service, National Logistics Support Center, Kansas City, MO. The Government intends to contract with a company able to provide the IFR 2023B signal generator. Interested parties are encouraged to respond to this announcement within 15 days of it's publication. A Request for Quotation (RFQ) will be issued approximately 15 days after publication of this announcement. All requests for an RFQ must be in writing to the address stated herein or faxed to (816) 426-7530 to the attention of Jackie Shewmaker. The Government reserves the right to solicit bids based on receipt of affirmative responses to this notice. The Standard Industrial Classification Code is 3679.
