Stop 445, cincinnati, Ohio 45268 Synopsis: Pollution prevention (P2)
technology vendors/suppliers are being solicited to participate in the
following opportunity: The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
and Concurrent Technologies Corporation (CTC) have entered into a
partnership to conduct performance verification testing under EPA's
Environmental Technology Verification Program for Metal Finishing P2
Technologies (ETV-MF) Pilot. The fundamental objective is to perform
objective third-party verification testing of commercial-ready,
innovative, metal finishing P2 technologies. Suppliers with innovative
P2 technologies are encouraged to participate in this national
performance verification program. If your environmental technology is
commercially ready or at a sufficient scale and state of development
such that performance claims can be established and evaluated, this
program may be of interest to you. The ETV-MF stakeholder group has
identified four main focus areas: (a) water use reduction/recycle, (b)
energy use reduction, (c) metal recovery/recycle, and (d) sludge
reduction (net weight of dry solids). P2 technologies are being sought
for these four focus areas, however, the ETV-MF Pilot requests that
manufacturers of technologies outside of these focus areas also apply,
in order to be considered for future verification testing. The ETV-MF
Team will review the technologies submitted, and with guidance from
the stakeholder group, will select and rank technologies for
verification testing. EPA, CTC, and the Stakeholder Group, in concert
with the vendor/supplier, will establish test criteria for verifying
the technology. Verification testing will be performed by an objective
third party. Verification testing costs are presently shared by the
ETV-MF Pilot and the vendor/supplier. Results of the testing will be
documented in reports which will be distributed through an extensive
information dissemination network. Verification statements are
published on the EPA ETV Internet website at: www.epa.gov/etv and serve
to provide potentialcustomers, consulting engineers, and environmental
permitters with an independent assessment of technology performance.
If you have an innovative P2 technology, and are interested in
submitting a technology for verification testing, contact Donn Brown at
the telephone number or address listed above for an Abstract Submittal
Form. Additional information about the ETV-MF Pilot Posted 05/15/00
