Bureau of Reclamation is seeking potential sources for a Particle
Counter & Sizer and a Submicron Particle Analyzer. Potential sources
must be capable of furnishing the following: Sample type -- Liquid
suspension Must provide distribution data on: numbers of particles,
volume of particles, & surface area of particles Must be able to
analyze single, discrete samples Must have an operational size range of
0.6 microns to >1000 microns Operational software & computer
necessary to run system must be included Min. 1 year warranty On-site
training provided Software must be Windows compatible & have data
export capabilities Software should provide size distribution
statistics System should be capable of providing run overlays &
averages, & data re-analyses without sample reruns Re-calibration of
system should be able to be done on-site System should have both manual
& automatic set-up capabilities Sample type -- Liquid suspension Must

capabilities Interested sources that can furnish an item meeting the
above specification requirements are encouraged to submit
substantiation to the Bureau of Reclamation, either by mail, fax, or
transmittal to the e-mail address listed below no later than May 30,
2000. Responses should include brochures or other illustrative material
in sufficient detail to demonstrate the respondent's ability to meet
the requirements stated above. This is a Sources Sought Notice only,
and not a Request for Quotation or an announcement of a solicitation.
The Government will not pay for any materials furnished in response to
this synopsis. Submittals furnished will not be returned to the
sender. Firms should identify themselves as either small business, or
other than small business, in accordance with the size standard for
Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) Code 3826 which is 500
employees. This notice is for market research purposes only, however,
the information gathered from this notice will be used to determine
which preference program will be used to process the acquisition (e.g.,
8(a) set-aside under the Small Business Administration's 8(a) program,
total small business set-aside, full and open competition). No
preference program determination will be made until the market research
