The Broadcasting Board of Governors (BBG) Office of Contracts (CON) has a requirement for a contractor to furnish and install wire rope trolley lines on curtain antenna towers located at the IBB transmitting station in Iranawila, Sri Lanka. The contractor shall provide wire rope, pre-configured and rigged to the specification contained in the forthcoming solicitation. It shall be packed for ocean shipment to Colombo, Sri Lanka. After customs clearance, the material shall be transported by land vehicle to Iranawila, which is approximately 2 hours north of Colombo along the Western coast of Sri Lanka. The wire rope shall then be unpacked and installed as trolley lines to service curtain antennae, which along with parallel reflecting curtains are suspended between steel towers. Most of these towers are in excess of 400 feet in height and are located in three groups: North, East, and West. All qualified prospective offerors, who possess and can demonstrate similar successful experience working on similar projects at similar heights, should submit a written request for a solicitation package to the Contracting Officer stated above. All requests for copies of the forthcoming solicitation must include the solicitation number, company name, mailing address, telephone and facsimile numbers, and name of contact person. It is anticipated the Request for Proposals (RFP) will be issued on June 9, 2000. Proposals will be due on July 31, 2000. No telephone requests for this solicitation will be honored.
