The Defense Threat Reduction Agency has the requirement for Translation Services in support of present and future international training, missions, and organizational requirements. This requirement is 100% Set Aside for Small Business. The Standard Industrial Classification Code is 7389 and the small business size standard is $5M. The contractor shall provide all supplies and services necessary to deliver a flexible volume of written translations from written material provided by the government. The majority of the translations shall be completed at the contractor's facility, with a possibility of occasional on-site in the United States and overseas translation services required. The contractor shall have proven proficiency in translation of the following languages from English into the foreign language and vice versa: Russian, Slovenian, Romanian, Bulgarian, Polish, Hungarian, Czech, Slovak, Lithuanian, Estonian, Latvian, and Albanian. Translation materials may include technical manuals, training materials, and other printed data with focus in the following areas: law enforcement, customs, jurisprudence, nuclear, biological and chemical weapons, and illicit trafficking. Performance of this requirement will require the capability to format or layout the documents using updated versions of Microsoft Office applications, e.g., MS Word and Power Point, as applicable. The contractor shall possess desktop publishing capability and be able to make camera-ready documents for publication. The Period of Performance will be from contract award plus twelve months for the base year, and four (4) option years following. A Firm-Fixed Price, Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity type contract is anticipated. The approximate issue date for the solicitation will be 30 May 2000.
