The vehicle is to be attached to a truck tractor via fifth wheel and capable of transporting about 86 soldiers (minimum 66 seated with remainder standing) with combat gear to and from training locations. These locations may be on or off base. The vehicle shall be capable of operating on a variety of road conditions from Interstate highways to off road. The solicitation will result in a requirements contract consisting of one base year with four, one year option periods for a total possible contract duration of five years. The solicitation will issue on, or about May 31, 2000 and close June 30, 2000. The solicitation will be available for download from the electronic posting system located on the internet at: http://eps.gov/ The solicitation contains an economic price adjustment clause. Price adjustments, if any, will be effective at the beginning of the option periods and will be based on changes in the Producer Price Index as developed by the Bureau of Labor Statistics for the applicable product code contained in the solicitation.
