Amendment 01: This action originally published in the CBD on or about 1 May 2000 is amended to extend the closing date for submission of offers and to provide information for the purpose of clarification. The closing date for receipt of offers is hereby extended to 2:00 PM (Local time) on 2 June 2000. Offers are to be received at NAVSURFWARCENDIV Crane, Bldg. 64 Bid Box, 300 Highway 361, Crane, IN 47522-5001 no later than 2:00 PM (Local time) on 2 June 2000. Reference solicitation number N00164-00-R-0073 on offer. Offers may be sent via facsimile and must be followed up with a hard copy. The following information is provided for the purpose of clarification. In reference to Performance Specification PS/00/805/0009: Paragraph 3.1 -- There is no specific wavelength requirement. Eyesafe technology is desired but not required. Paragraph 3.4.1 -- Target reflectivity is 10 percent. Paragraph 3.5.3 -- The reticle shall be "approximately" the size of the laser beam. The reticle center shall have a field of view approximate the divergence of the laser. Paragraph 3.5.5 -- An LCD with a backlit LED is acceptable. Paragraph 3.5.5 -- The automatic brightness control is for compatibility with the naked eye (daylight) with a night vision compatibility during nighttime conditions. A separate switch for night vision compatibility is acceptable. Paragraph 3.5.6 -- There are no standard threads that can be provided. Offerors shall make a best value determination of thread size. The PLRF with adapter (to be provided by offeror) is required to be interoperable with the PVS-18 and the PVS-14 NVG which includes any special optical or mechanical interfaces. Paragraph 3.10 -- A non class 1 device is acceptable. Paragraph 4.7 -- The surface the system will be dropped on is " plywood on concrete backing surface.
