laurie.techmeier@offutt.af.mil. The purpose of this modification is to
change the closing date of the solicitation to 26 May 2000, and to
provide a revised statement of work. In addition, the requirement to
balance, bake and dip the motor as mentioned in question 2 of the
_questions and answers_ is deleted. The revised statement of work
follows: Revised Statement of Work for Chiller Conversion and
Installation (Revised 17 May 2000) Conversion of York International
Chiller Model # YTK1K3E2-CTA to operate on refrigerant R-123. 1.
Install a new York Turbogard 11 purge. Overhaul the compressor
completely. Inspect and record all bearings and shaft clearances and if
they are found not to be with within factory recommended specifications
then replace with new. Replace all existing service valves on the
chiller with OEM original valves. Install refrigerant clean up kit to
include drier cores, eductor, interconnecting piping and valves. Change
all gaskets that need to be replaced to be compatible with R-123.
Change all the oil in the system. Charge with 1400 lbs. of R123
refrigerant and if it takes less then give the remaining over to the
Air Force. Conduct a refrigerant leak test on all tubes and if any are
found to be leaking then replace with new. Provide and install a
Ventguard 11 relief valve in place of the existing bursting disk, and
pipe to the outside to comply with code. Provide and install a single
point refrigerant monitor for R123, and provide and install an exhaust
system that will be activated when the refrigerant monitor detects a
leak and provide and install a visual and audio signal outside and
inside the chiller room. Conduct a factory start-up and check out all
components. 2. Provide and install 8_ and 10_ steel pipe as required to
connect chiller to existing piping. This installation will be welded
connections and includes isolation valves on both entering and leaving
condenser and chilled water. Also provide 4 thermometers and wells, 2
liquid filled pressure gauges with required valves, 4 additional half
couplings for installation of the owners DDC system temperature
sensors, chilled water and condenser water flow switches. Remove
existing insulation back to the existing chilled water pump. Insulate
all new chilled water lines including the existing chilled water line
back to the pump. Insulation will be 1 12_ fiberglass. Provide and
install a new 100-amp circuit breaker in the existing panelboard.
Provide and install conduit and wire from breaker to chiller. Provide
and install a non-fused disconnect at the chiller and wire to existing
motor starter. Connect chilled and condenser water flow switches to
the existing control panel. Posted 05/17/00 (D-SN455952). (0138) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0038 20000519\J-0005.SOL)
