STATEMENT OF WORK: The following services shall be provided for = a=20 period of 6 months to Mess Specialists aboard Navy Ships while at sea. = 1. =20 Certificate and Competency based instruction in Professional Cooking = with=20 emphasis on high volume production in accordance with the Educational=20 Foundation of the National Restaurant Association standards. 2. = Certificate based instruction in Applied Food Service Sanitation. 3. Certificate = based=20 instruction in Nutrition. 4. Certificate based instruction in = Supervisory=20 Development with emphasis on management of newly skilled labor. 5. = Conduct=20 graduation exercises for students who qualify to graduate from the = instruction=20 program. 6. Provide competency transcript which summarizes the hours = of=20 instruction and completed competencies for each student enrolled in the = program=20 for follow-on credit to complete degrees or certifications. 7. = Instructor=20 must be flexible to the varied schedules but will not be obligated to = work=20 periods of more than 8 hours per day. Upon completion of courses 2 = through 4=20 above, the student shall meet the minimum educational requirement for=20 application for certification by the American Culinary Federation. The = Government agrees to provide the following in support of the above = mentioned=20 services: 1. Berthing and meals for the resident Chef Instructor and=20 assistant instructors aboard the ship. 2. All supplies, i.e. food = supplies,=20 ice, etc., for competency training. 3. Office for the resident Chef=20 Instructor aboard the ship. 4. Classroom space aboard the ship. = NOTE: =20 General Quarters (GQ) and other related reuired drills may interfere or = affect=20 scheduled training. Adjustments will be made as required to reschedule = or=20 reconvene the affected training period. The period of performance is = for one=20 year, with 2 one-year options.
