equipment, tools and labor to connect the Base Water Well to existing
irrigation lines throughout the base. The well is located between
buildings 113 and 107 at Channel Islands Air Guard Station, 113
Mulcahey Drive, Port Hueneme, CA 93041. The contractor will ensure the
well is pumping water to the irrigation lines and is operating
properly. The Contractor will complete the following tasks: 1. Provide
and install 6" water main line from the flange of the existing well
(Capacity 350 GPM, 300 TDH) to the existing irrigation system.
Irrigation system point of connection is at vacuum breakers designated
on plans that will be provided at site visit only. 2. All backfill
material will consist of native soil. The contractor will obtain any
native soil and/or backfill material necessary to restore area to pre
original design and look. 3. Required digging permit shall be obtained
from the 146th Civil Engineer Squadron located at 113 Mulcahey Drive,
Port Hueneme, CA 93041. 4. Install a Well Filtration Protection System
to protect irrigation parts and equipment from damage by suspended
solids in water well system. 5. Install water meter in compliance with
regulatory requirements.(OSHA, state and city regulations. 6. Install
Control System to minimize on/off cycling of the well pump during
irrigation 7. Provide terminated connection point, (Valve) for future
water well tie in to reminder of base. 8. Install Liquid Fertilizer
Injection System. Must meet all Environmental Regulations. 9. Provide
eight, (8), hours of system operation and maintenance training for all
newly installed equipment. 10. Rebuild irrigation system behind Butler
Mobility Storage building. Repair inoperable control valves and correct
defective tree/shrub bubblers. 11. Provide work schedule and or
timeline detailing when work will be accomplished. 12. Provide O&M
Operations Manual that includes overall system operating instructions
and installed equipment descriptions and operating specifications and
as built drawings. CONTRACTOR SITE VISIT: Contractor must visit site
prior to submitting a bid. Site drawings will be provided at this time.
SITE VISIT A scheduled site visit will be hosted by 146 Civil
Engineering Department (8 June 00) at 9:00 AM Pacific. All questions
will be answered concerning the project and unit requirements. 1)
Non-Scheduled Site Visits: Will be allowed at the discretion of 146 CES
Representatives and the Base Contracting Officer 2) All Contractors
interested in this project must have a representative attend a site
