59 -- BRASS BOARD PASSIVE ELECTRONICALLY STEERED APERTURE (ESA) SOL N68936-00-R-0105 DUE 071700 POC Linda Long, Contract Specialist, (760) 939-4232 or Doreen Robbins, Contracting Officer (760) 939-9665 The Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division intends to solicit for development of a cost-effective Brass Board Passive Electronically Steered Aperture (ESA) designed to operate at 35 GHz. Solicitation is on a fully competitive basis. A prototype tunable ESA must be constructed which is compatible with equipment available at NAWCWD in order to validate the proposed concept. The equipment list will be provided in the solicitation. The purpose of the ESA is to demonstrate a low cost concept at the laboratory/anechoic chamber level. The work is expected to concentrate on the aperture itself. While the ESA concept must be compatible with a tactical seeker, the brass board ESA to be fabricated under this requirement does not need to be form factored to fit in a tactical missile. A feed architecture appropriate for a tactical seeker will not be required, nor will the beam steering computer required to support the beam switching speeds or volume constraints of a tactical system be required. The contractor will be required to fabricate, demonstrate and provide a final design of the brass board ESA. Proposed type of contract is Cost Plus Fixed Fee. Estimated period of performance is twelve months. Performance shall begin upon award.
