The Department of Veterans Affairs Central Office (VACO), Washington, D.C., has an urgent requirement for 100,000 interment (burial) flags no later than September 30, 2000. Product Description: FLAGS, NATIONAL, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, INTERMENT, NSN 8345-00-656-1432, made in accordance with Federal Specification DDD-F-416E dated November 27, 1981. Salient characteristics are: The interment flag of the United States shall be a 5-foot hoist by 9-foot 6-inch fly flag, made from 100% cotton, and wholly produced in the United States of America. Interested offerors are requested to submit a price quote electronically to: jeanette.tatum@mail.va.gov, no later than June 8, 2000, 4:00 PM Eastern Time, for 100,000 interment flags to be delivered no later than September 30, 2000. Concurrently, interested offerors must submit one sample flag for evaluation to Department of Veterans Affairs, Service and Distribution Center, Attn: Mr. John Peters, 1st Avenue, 1 Block North of 22nd Street, Building 37, Hines, IL 60141, no later than June 8, 2000. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation is issued as RFP 101-23-00. This procurement is full and open competition. Contract Line Item Number (CLIN): 0001; Quantity: 100,000; Unit: Each Description: 5-foot hoist by 9-foot 6-inch fly flag, made from 100% cotton, wholly produced in the United States of America, in accordance with Federal Specification DDD-F-416E dated November 27, 1981. Offerors are required to provide a price for each option, and VA will select the option that is most favorable to the Government.
